mentalfloss1 asked: Sadly, the Timberline Trail on Mt. Hood is in poor shape. There was a fire on the NW side that burned some of the most beautiful sections of the trail. The east side had a washout a few years ago and a steep section of the trail is gone and you either have to bypass it on the road or risk a deadly fall. The upside is that as the burn regenerates there will be lots of wildflowers, new saplings, browse for deer and elk, and the mountain will be fine again.
